Come Hear NC is a NC Music Office initiative within the North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources. Launched during “The Year of Music” in 2019, Come Hear NC has since worked to celebrate, support, and sustain North Carolinians’ pathbreaking contributions to American music. From Earl Scruggs to J. Cole, Etta Baker to George Clinton, Nina Simone to James Taylor, and John Coltrane to Roberta Flack (to name a few), North Carolina musicians have moved and influenced people around the world. Today, over 45,000 North Carolinians work in the music industry, and countless others enjoy the art that springs from their labor. Come Hear NC is proud to support all North Carolina music.
